In the spotlight this time: the Mercedes-Benz Atego racing truck from 2001.
  • Wörth, Apr 13, 2023 - With an area of almost three million square meters, Wörth plant is the world's largest in the Mercedes-Benz Trucks production network. With around 10,000 employees, it is also the second-largest employer in Rhineland-Palatinate.

  • Stuttgart/Milton Keynes (United Kingdom), Aug 18, 2021 - On 18 August 1896 Gottlieb Daimler presented the very first motorised truck in the world. It was sold by Daimler to British Motor Syndicate, an automobile company in London.
  • Stuttgart, Jun 15, 2021 - In 1923 Benz & Cie. presented the first diesel truck to the world. The five-tonne vehicle was driven by a four-cylinder diesel OB 2 engine with an output of 33 kW (45 hp) at 1000 rpm. When compared with a petrol-driven truck of the same design, the efficiency of the diesel truck was immediately impressive:
  • Stuttgart/Gaggenau, Apr 27, 2021 - In 1951, the Unimog was added to the Daimler-Benz portfolio and the U 25 (2010 model series) was produced at the Gaggenau plant between 1951 and 1953.
  • Stuttgart, Mar 19, 2021 - A farmhand with 25 hp: the semi-automatic potato planting machine was an implement dating back to the beginnings of the Unimog. The track width of the Unimog was designed for work amongst the potato rows: it was 1270 mm which was sufficient space for precisely two rows of potatoes between the wheels.
  • Stuttgart, Mar 1, 2021 - In 1948 the Unimog was yet to bear the Mercedes-Benz name and was instead produced by the Boehringer machine-building company in Göppingen.
  • Stuttgart, Oct 29, 2020 - Reconstruction, economic miracle and a new desire for travel: the Mercedes-Benz L 6600 heavy-duty truck and the Mercedes-Benz O 6600 bus, equipped with the same drivetrain, were the ideal vehicles for all this and more from 1950 right into the mid-1960s.
  • Stuttgart /Göppingen, Oct 26, 2020 - 27 October marks the 70th anniversary of the Unimog take-over by Daimler-Benz AG. This date thus marks the birth of the now legendary Mercedes-Benz Unimog, which has proven its strengths many hundreds of thousands of times.
