A fantastic result with three first places in this year’s readers’ choice organised by the trade magazine busplaner published by Munich-based Huss-Verlag: the innovative and environmentally friendly technologies in the Mercedes-Benz eCitaro fuel cell and Intouro K buses as well as the Daimler Buses Active Brake Assist 5 were declared the winners in three categories and awarded the busplaner Innovation Award 2023.

A two-axle Mercedes-Benz Intouro M with 63 seats and standing room for 37 passengers has been the new showpiece in Begonia Reizen’s fleet from Lochristi since the beginning of 2023. It is the first vehicle of the bus company from the Belgian province of East Flanders to be registered with standing room.

Daimler Buses has successfully completed one of the largest orders in its history and one of the most extensive tenders in Europe in 2021 and 2022: 864 Mercedes-Benz buses are now taking over urban and intercity transport in the AML (Área Metropolitana de Lisboa) region around the Portuguese capital Lisbon.

Österreichische Postbus AG has commissioned 48 Mercedes Benz Intouro L vehicles. The three-axle inter-city buses, which are just under 15 meters long, are used in the provinces of Salzburg (15 vehicles) and in Styria (33 buses).

It is the largest investment to date in intercity passenger transportation in Slovenia: The operator Arriva Slovenija is now using 45 state-of-the-art intercity buses with the star. Another 20 Mercedes-Benz Intouro buses will follow next year.
