Stuttgart - Daimler Truck announces the appointment of two important key positions in the finance division. Claus Bässler will take charge of overall management of the “Treasury & Tax” unit at Daimler Truck AG on December 1, 2021. Christian Herrmann is taking on additional responsibilities as “Head of Investor Relations / M&A & Participation Management” at Daimler Truck AG on December 1, 2021. The new appointments create clear responsibilities in the finance division under the leadership of Chief Financial Officer Jochen Götz, and represent an important step toward the planned independence of the company.

With Claus Bässler, an experienced finance manager is taking charge of the Treasury & Tax unit at Daimler Truck AG. Having been with the company since 1993, he has held various management positions in finance, for example as CFO of Mercedes-Benz Thailand, Head of Export Credit/Finance and Head of Audit Finance & Controlling within Corporate Audit. From 2017 until the beginning of 2021, Claus Bässler was CFO of Daimler Buses and Commercial Managing Director of EvoBus GmbH. Since March 2021, he has led Project Focus for Daimler Truck, playing a key role on the way to the planned independence of Daimler Truck AG.

Christian Herrmann  is a financial manager with a wealth of experience in accounting, controlling, and mergers & acquisitions (M&A). After joining DaimlerChrysler AG in 2003, he held various positions in Corporate Controlling & Accounting and M&A at Daimler AG. Since 2016, Christian Herrmann has been responsible for Technology M&A andVentures for Daimler AG. In this function, he was significantly involved in Daimler Truck projects such as the acquisition of Torc and the cellcentric joint venture. He will lead a strong investor relations function.
