Gaggenau – This year, 86 trainees and dual students will start their careers at the Mercedes-Benz Gaggenau plant. Jochen Goetz, member of the Board of Management of Daimler Truck AG responsible for finance and controlling, visited the junior staff at the site. The new colleagues had the opportunity to ask Jochen Goetz questions about the company, his person and his personal career, as well as his duties on the board. In addition, the junior staff showed him what they had learned so far at individual stations during a joint tour of the training workshop.

Jochen Goetz, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler Truck AG responsible for Finance and Controlling: “I have a very special bond with our location in Gaggenau, as I started my career as an industrial clerk here 35 years ago. Today, I am pleased to be able to welcome so many young people as new employees. These junior staff will make an important contribution to shaping the transformation of the commercial vehicle industry.”

The plant is training a total of 261 trainees and 34 DH students across all years. The young people can choose between four technical professions and one commercial profession as well as four technical dual courses of study. While the new vocational training year has just started, the application process for 2023 is already underway at all German sites. Interested students can find more information and apply at www.daimlertruck.com/career/. Daimler Truck expressly welcomes applications from young people with disabilities. The company sees diversity as an opportunity and consciously focuses on the diversity of its employees.

About the Mercedes-Benz plant Gaggenau

The Mercedes-Benz Gaggenau plant was founded in 1894 as "Bergmann's Industriewerke in Gaggenau" and is the oldest automobile plant in the world. With around 4,700 employees, it is both the city's largest employer and the region's largest training company. In addition to transmissions, planetary and portal axles as well as car converters are also produced at the site. The Mercedes-Benz Gaggenau plant is the competence center for electric drive components, for the assembly of hydrogen-based fuel cell units and heavy-duty commercial vehicle transmissions. Vocational training also has a long tradition: for more than 100 years, more than 10,000 young people have completed their training in the oldest automobile factory.
