Stuttgart / Gemünden, Germany. Scherer Reisen Omnibus Gesellschaft mbH has added 15 new Setra double-decker buses to its fleet. The S 531 DT buses will be used by the Rhein-Mosel transport association (VRM) between the German towns of Burgen and Koblenz, and on the express route between Koblenz to Polch.
The three-axle vehicles are each equipped with 79 regular seats and two seats for persons with a disability, and have a 1.10 metre-wide single-wing rear door with fold-down ramp. The coaches have a digital ticket printer on board and use GPS to deliver up-to-date driving and location data to the control centre and transport network in real time.
Based in Gemünden in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, the second-generation family-owned company has over 100 Setra vehicles in its fleet. As well as its scheduled services, the company (founded in 1973) also offers trips across Europe.
